Asof dit nie erg genoeg was dat ons forseer was om in ons eie huise te bly nie, al sou niemand dit voor 2020 geglo het nie, blyk dit nou dat dit nie lank is voor ons eie asem gemeet en getel sal word nie! ‘n Nederlandse Bankier en professor, Barbara Baarsma van Rabobank, wil vir burgers persoonlike jaarlikse CO₂ kwotas gee! Sy het vroeër die maand die skokkende voorstel gemaak op die besigheidsbesprekingsprogram, “Zakendoen” op BNR-radio. Die voorstel is glo om in die toekoms persoonlike CO₂ emissies te begin prys, dit te gebruik om finansiële aansporings te versprei, sodat “kreatiwiteit in die ekonomie na vore kom” en dat mense so forseer word om verskillende keuses te maak. As die ver linkses alreeds die emissies van koei tel, hoe lank voor hulle die CO2 wat ons met elke asem uitstoot, begin meet? Sal dit van ons persoonlike kwota afgetrek word?
